How To Take Control of Your Business?
Being a thriving entrepreneur requires you to know how to be a good boss and run a solid business simultaneously. This could be challenging but it is also an opportunity to take your business to another level. Now is the time to stop letting roadblocks get you down and start problem-solving your way to better days ahead.
Be Good about Delegating
You hired people for a reason - to help you. So you should use their talents wisely to assist you with all your task. Get comfortable delegating tasks and removing some responsibility from yourself. Doing this will free up more of your time so you can attend to higher-level duties that need to get done.
Delegating task to others, however, does not mean that you will just leave it to the person you assigned the task to. That is losing control, not taking control. You need to see to it that the task being assigned is done correctly. If your worker commit mistakes a few times in the beginning, teach him how to get it done right, work with him. Do not get easily discouraged and take back the task to yourself.
Put Systems in Place
A good system will be a big help. Having a reliable system will force you to think through the process. One of the results of the system development process is creating flowcharts that show each piece of the system. These flowcharts are given to all the relevant employees and posted on their walls. This allows all the employees to follow the proper procedures, giving your company consistent, high-quality performance on the relevant tasks. Having the system in place also allows you to quickly integrate new hires into your business. Systems and flowcharts make it very easy for new hires to see their place and roles within the organization and hit the ground running.Creating systems is classic “working on” versus “working in” your business. Once the systems are created and in place, the activities are performed nearly on auto-pilot. You don’t have to waste time and energy in performing and/or actively managing them. Thus, it allows the manager/owner to take more time off or/and spend more time on more important activities.
True, building systems takes time and often does not immediately put cash in your pocket, but the benefits will pay for themselves over and over again and are definitely worth doing. So start systematizing your business today. Do not think of the cost of systems software as expense, think of it as an investment.
